.... so you've seen how the entrance looks... and you've seen how it looks as soon as I open the door for you...

Now I'm showing you my priced possession!! *smiles*

My hubby (and I)... love music.... He loves to collect CDs... only problem is.. I never had a good storage space.. Yes!! the modern CD racks... don't turn me on.. *grins*... I'd stop hubby from buying CDs... If he went to the counter with 10... I'd coax him into buying one... *smiles* .. He is nice like that..!! on the rare occassions..!! *smiles*

And when I saw this gorgeous piece... at Pinkys... I simply had to bring it home... *sigh*

The Pinky's dude even put a few extra shelves for me... which helped me convert this into a CD rack... I got it home.. without even thinking of where to place it... Then one weekend.. we shuffled... re-arranged... re-organised.... literally moved everything around... to make a home for this.. It someone didn't fit in the main living room.... *sigh*

So now.. I have it.. right at the entrance of the house... Yes!! As soon as you walk in... People often wonder why I have such a gorgeous shoe rack... but I don't keep shoes at the entrance of my home.. I simply cant do that!!

So do you like my new favourite ??? What if there were peacocks on it.. instead of horses.. *sigh*.. Now I'm asking for too much... *smiles*

...a peep into my closet

...have you had your mom yell at you for keeping a messy room or an untidy closet? Mine did! and quite often!!...and when I wouldn't pay much attention to her yelling...she would happily dump the entire closet on the floor. Imagine entering your room to find your clothes, perfume bottles, earrings, your special possessions lying on the floor! I would get furious and be in tears but to no avail! My amma would just say..."This is my home, and until you are here, you will do as i say" !! I would equate my amma to Lalita Pawar for being so mean...!
Today, when we have made our own homes, I am so thankful for my amma for being so strict and being the disciplinarian. If my amma taught me loads of good stuff, my aunts taught us how to fold the sheets, the pillow cases and towels and sarees and.....:-) It had to be done a particular way... No arguments there....I am sure my aunts are smiling when they read this and today...I often thank these wounderful ladies for all their teachings...*smile*.

Fussing over furniture..

Yes I do!! I make a big fuss about any piece of furniture or accessory in my abode. That’s just me!! I buy, borrow, or compose stuff that I love … rather adore!!



I’m working towards a ‘lotus inspired living room’. At this stage I don’t even know if its going to happen… To bring in the inspiration, we added a few lotus’ around the house…. And this is one of them!!

This piece of gorgeousness is meant to be a bed side cabinet…

In my heart, its way too exquisite to be by my bed side… I have it as a ‘side table’… seated arrogantly next to my sofas!!

A side view for you…. so you know how gorgeous it is!! And inside it, I store my priced possession… ‘Shekar’ uncles décor and design books. These are his collection that I’ve borrowed (never to return – I hope!) *wink*! I totally love his collection… they are the best books on décor, design & architecture… (The top two IKEA catalogues are mine)! I’m linking to Show & Tell & Its so very Cheri
