My bench...

Thank you Kamini for the 'Ode to Fellow Bloggers'... I'm now inspired to show off about my house today... … What do you think of my new find??

After hunting nearly 200+ furniture shops…. some non air-conditioned warehouses in the middle of the desert (really!!).. We found exactly what I was looking for and for less than what we had in our pockets …

Every piece of furniture or curio … rather… every corner of my house has a story waiting to be told.. This particular time, Ramie & I conspired against Rose… (hope she doesn’t read this)… when we went to this particular shop… Only coz.. Rose is like the ‘finance consultant’ of our household.. She doesn’t understand how sometimes, Patty simply has this urge to listen to her heart and completely forgets about the wallet or credit card… *smiles*

Well… when she saw the bench, she absolutely loved it… Plus it was ridiculously cheap..

Can you see the beautiful carvings…. Do you know why I love this now??

The cushions needs to change… I need happier colours for the summer.. I’m getting there… I am… be patient!!! I’m showing off at Show & Tell , Mosaic Monday, FFF & New Friend Friday

I do think.. that there is now too much of wood at home… and I should break this monotony buy using a off white-ish silk cushion base for the bench… What do you think??

Bench

I could do with this bench... I dont know where I will keep it... but I like the dark wood look.. and the cushions.. Although I'd definitely add some more colourful cushions... Do you have a seat like this?

Love

While its February and we are still on the topic of love... I'd like to blog a few items that showcase love in my home. I've actually shortlisted the top three..

And the entrance of my home is this two-seater bench. A tiny mark on my wall, became a weekend project that turned into this lovely orange wall!! I would love to take the credit for painting it myself... but I did such an awful job that my brother Arafat had to do the amazing correction!! This is my favourite wall and I love experimenting with it... every now and then!

Here are the two hearts –

On the way to our bedroom (in the passage way) is the paintings of Radha-Krishna (my version of them!).Perhaps no other faith glorifies love like in India. Indeed its hard to miss the many legends and paintings that illustrates Krishna’s undying love for Radha. It is the most memorable of all times.

In my bedroom is this lovely work of art, by an artist unknown. It’s called ‘the music of love’! This was a christmas gift from my brother Sunil. Can you see the guitar??

Waiting to be decorated is my center table. As I love changing the dekor on it every now and then. Awaiting Valentines day are these lovely flowers and candles.
