Simple table centre piece

The winter months in Dubai means making most of any outdoor space available. Its our seasons for BBQs, beach parties, picnics, long drives, etc.... 

This simply means, its my opportunity to set up an outdoor table... *smiles*.. And would you think I'd let this opportunity go for anything in the world... *grins*

Here is an extremely simple centre piece idea, that any of you can try. Be it outdoors or indoors... A few leaves from the garden (you could use stems, leaves, or even flowers)... put it under an inverted wine / cocktail glass... and top it up with a candle... and voilà.. What do you think?

Do ignore the rest of my garden.. *smiles*.. I'll be doing 'project garden makeover' next month!!

Hello my lovelies... How have you been?? I've had a rather stressful beginning to the new year.. *sigh*.. I'm hoping the weeks ahead get calmer... For this week, I truly had no inspiration or motivation to click pics or make any pretties... Rather, we spent Friday afternoon at the park .... BBQing, laughing, and just about doing nothing.. Was a lovely day!! 

Here is a table beauty from last month ... Its the most simple thing to do... a glass, a candle, a few stones, and a flower in it... and isn't it pretty??

Candles always bring a cheer to my life... *smiles*..

Festive Table Décor

I love festivities… Christmas in particular is special… with fairy
lights, and ornaments, tinsel and mistletoes… and above all santa… and all the
gifts he brings along… *smiles*…  There is always a little child in you …
somewhere!!! 

Anyway… so
here is an outdoor setting… We did this for a dinner party in November… I put
out some petals, some potpourri, a few candles… and then I suddenly realised…
it looks all Christmasy...  So I wont say
anymore.. and will leave you with these images… 

So what do

will be putting up our tree this weekend… !! *happiness*

The Weekly Story ~ wk 57

Its six weeks to Christmas!! Yes... only seven week for the year to come to an end.. Honestly.. I don't know where this year disappeared.. Its whizzed past me... on a rocket.. I think!! *smiles*... Moaning for some other time... 

October starts our season for outdoor events, parties, BBQs, picnics... And any other reason to be outdoors..

Don't you simply love candles....

Finally the temperatures have dropped.. and we start enjoying the outdoors.. We've been dining in the garden nearly everyday, which calls for table set-ups, and centre peices... Excited?? I sure am... Here is the Weekend center piece... Tell me what you think??

I simply love candles.... and how they make the any space look gorgeous...

Lots of tea lights in glass holders... some with water... some with pebbles... on a mirror top....

The mirror is what makes it look even more gorgeous... Isn't it???

IKEA tea light holders... with water & floating candles... a few pebbles or stones... makes a beautiful table top...

For me... the table top has to be beautiful.. no matter what day of the week it is...

I love candles... I'm always in the mood for some pretty candles... and my craze for lotus themed room... hasn't vanished as yet... Its just that it got lost somewhere!!! *smiles*

This one was put together by my mommy… She loves flowers… Isn’t that obvious??



This are was a huge success with a few of our guests !!

Red is lovely.. isn’t it?? With a few petals… the fragrances brought in the new year!!



My bird bath was converted into a candle holder… These are the cutest birdies!!

Weekend Wrap Up - Wk 8

Hello my lovelies…. I’m sure by now, you know what I was upto this weekend… Yes!! It was a weekend of de-cluttering… Started with my girls room and managed to pack away two boxes of goodies!! From new toys, to clothes still with tags, birthday give aways like pencils, colour pens, colouring books, new bags etc… Then went onwards to the rest of the bedrooms.. My hubby and girlies are true hoarders… From golf tee-shirts, to golf bags, books, towels. Even if you don’t use things that have a logo on it…. you sure have to keep it safe!! *wicked grin* But I managed to put out a few bags and boxes…. Packed away all my Diwali decorations in pretty boxes, tagged them so I know exactly what is in them! Sorted out stuff for my girls birthday in two weeks… So now I have two boxes consisting of birthday stuff… I was done by Friday night and totally exhausted by then!

Saturday was spent making the house look pretty. Here is a new addition to my table top… The Golf book obviously doesn’t belong to me… *smiles* Nevertheless shows you what is important to the people sharing this space!



Normally we put up our Christmas decoration after Sims birthday… We made ‘JOY’ out of newspaper.. Tutorial to follow this week. It was a test run!! We will change it to Simone for her birthday… *smiles*



Then we started work on our ‘Advent Calendar’. I don’t really like to buy new Christmas decorations unless I really need it. The girls and I are putting away money that we would spend for gifts and decorations aside and are hoping we can make one other persons Christmas special. So Advent Calendar tutorial to follow this week as well…

Simple decor joys..

This is what I did for a family get together today… We had an awesome time…

I’m still waiting for my frog to turn into a prince.. Thought I’ll keep my candles ready… just incase *wink*

An Arabic style seating in my back yard (hardly a yard *smiles*)… with hookah!! My younger cousins were very pleased.. and had a fabulous time!! The lamp shade above was a gift from Kamini!

I'm still dreaming of a lotus themed room... Guess it will have to remain a dream for a while...

I do not have any sense of colour... I simply love colours and a combination of yellow, red, pink, and fuchsia and just perfect for me.. *smiles*
