The Weekly Story ~ wk 67

Hello my lovelies... Its Monday again...

Oh.. I forgot to tell you... I got a little feature in the 'Khabar Magazine'... Check page 42 to 50 for the complete article... A huge thank you to Girija who has done a super fabulous job putting this together... Makes me feel like I was having coffee with Kamini, Sudha, Anu and Gagan....

Was thrilled to see my home on the first page of the article... thrilled only because my home looks soooooooooooooo much prettier in that image... I was stunned... !!

And then... the peacock wall of my old home... brought back happy memories... of lovely painted walls... I've failed miserably with what I wanted to do this time... Will show you images of the incomplete wall next week... *hides face*

Oh.. and now... back into the week... doing another small post for 'Red is for love'...

Here is a super simple paper craft... All you need is newspaper, stapler or glue and scissors... I showed the girls how to do this once... and then watched as they struggled to get it right...

I'm not a mean mom... I left them to struggle... only coz it takes them longer that way... and keeps them enthusiastic... till they get it right...

They made a few of these and hung in the garden and some at home... What do you think?

Definitely simple paper craft, for younger kids...

The Weekly Story ~ wk 66

All of February on Colours Dekor is 'Red is for love'.... so do a post on the colour 'red'... or join in with your 'love' posts... Here is my post on 'love craft' *smiles*

The girlies and I did some paper craft this weekend... Once I finished all the clearing and cleaning... we decided to add a few elements of red and love around the house...

On our dining table... made out of paper... as simple as that... with a candle it in.. Looks lovely!! What do you think?

You must think I teach my girls all sorts of non sense... Well the truth is... I'm not sure how much they learn about the craft... and its really nothing.. But when we sit down to make it together... we talk... about colours, family, love... and all sorts of things under the sun.. we laugh... and we giggle.. Some times we fight... *smiles*.. And it is this... that I truly value..

The girls have grown too fast... from baby talk a few years ago... that I could laugh over.. we now have serious kind of talk... *gosh*...

The added attempt they put in... to arrange stuff... to move things around... makes me feel super nice!! They moved this from the dining area to the foyer, coz they thought it looked better there... What do you think?

I know.. I haven't visited your blogs from last weeks linky... Sorry.. I was super busy with month end, but I had a quick look and I thought these two posts were lovely... *smiles*...

Informative post on Colours : The Basics at Purvi's Creative Hub...

Like I always say... don't forget to leave a comment... on their blogs.. and do follow if you like what you see.. Its simply brings a smile of 'blogger' faces.. *smiles*

Weekend Wrap Up 18

This is my ‘roller coaster’ of emotions weekend… It definitely is!! Thursday evening my gran left us for her final destination… We were sad, but at the same time relieved that she didn’t suffer at all… She had a bath, dressed up and went off to sleep… Not to wake up again.. Isn’t that beautiful?? She was indeed a beautiful person… inside and out!! My dad was by her side… For the last two years or more… his mind was never at rest when he would be with us. He always wanted to be with his mom!! My dad loved her very very much… And it was heartbreaking in a different kind of way… to see my strong, big, bold dad ….. be gloomy and in distress…

Anyway… moving on to Friday… I had a quiet - at home Friday… some more cleaning, clearing… and helping my brother with his Tachez stuff.. I’m surprised (rather shocked) by the stuff he churns out… When he went to be a ‘pastry chef’… After completing his course in interior design!! I was like.. ‘what’…’what will you be?’ really? But I was so so wrong… He is good.. I don’t like to admit it… But he is fabulous… And with a sister who doesn’t step into the kitchen… I wont say more… in shame!! *wink*

I don’t know where Saturday went… Between two ballet classes, an additional ballet rehearsal… my Saturday disappeared some where!! … Sims is playing tea pot (I think) in the next Alice in Wonderland concert by her ballet school… She makes me proud with these little things she does!! Anyway.. the girls were super upset that we didn’t get to do any Valentines day craft… But they’ve been making cards and little paper hearts for all of us… That’s super sweet… I put out this red wreath on the table to give it a new Valentines day look… Do you like it??

I’ve been rather sick since Saturday night… with a tummy bug and dizzy spells.. I’ve had these mini dizziness kind of effect for a while now… (I like to see stars and be dreamy even during the day *smiles*) and I’ve been ignoring them… But Sunday and today.. is rather bad.. Hey… Its ok to be a little sick.. isn’t it.. *smiles* Which just means I’m even more stressed coz I haven’t been to work… and a truck is what I’ll need to carry my load… *sigh*

Oh.. so Happy Valentines Day to you all.... Its just nice to tell everyone that you love them... so go on and spread the love... I'm not one to really beleive in all the material things that go with this day.... but I like the thought of getting my mommy something... special today!! Now... go.. on and join the Weekend party.. ~~

  1. Do a Weekend Wrap Up post on your blog. It has to be 'your' photograph !! (post atleast one picture... its nice to see!!) and it can really be anything you did over the weekend – example – a fun recipe you tried out, a craft project, a DIY, a table top, a few candles, coffee with friends or a good book or a movie review… The list is endless… just about ANYTHING… and anything about YOU !! *smiles*

  2. No images from other websites or magazines please!! This is about YOU.

Tips for Valentines day home dekor..

My kids are a bit upset with me… that we haven’t done any Valentines day craft this year… 24 hours … just isn’t enough for me!! Anyway… I’m hoping my little post will make your Valentines day special…

I miss my old home… so so gorgeous.. that is for Valentines day 2009!!

  1. Like I always say.. the best way to start.. is to clean, clear and de-clutter.
  2. Use aroma candles of all shapes, sizes, colour and scent…
  3. Oh.. and don’t forget flowers… Don’t just do roses… that a bit boring… but buy any kind of flower.. that will bring a smile.. My smile is daisies..
  4. Try the old tacky red heart shaped balloon.. I believe they are for true romantics..
  5. Write a small message… wherever you can!!
  6. Set up your coffee table… (like in my pic) as a table for two… Keep a few candles… a bottle of wine… two glasses…
  7. Put on some romantic music…
  8. Make personalised cards…
  9. Make a quick heart shaped photo collage… like what my kids have done with post it… Its truly awesome to see pics like that!!
  10. And simply have some fun!!

The girls & I put this together in 2010… the napkin holders have their names on it..

Here is a Valentines day craft… that the girls did last year… The wrote little ‘love notes’ to the important people in their lives ~ from teachers, to friends, to uncles & aunts… It was lovely to read!!

I'm linking into all these lovely blog parties!!

Do you remember our last years post '5 ways of loving up your living space'... Go on.. Enjoy!! And hope you all have a lovely Valentines day... with awesome surprises in store!!
