Upcycled cardboard box

Be inspired… !! This normal cardboard box used for packaging has been recycled to look like an awesome storage or tissue box.

This is shared by Bhupali Joshi, who has used fevicryl acrylic colours to paint a madhubani on one box and warli on another.

Isn’t this simply amazing. Do you have such interesting work to share? Email me on coloursdekor@gmail.com

Googly Eyed bottle craft

Hello Thursday... Welcome to the weekend.. Yay! I'm reposting this craft today and linking into Arsty Craftsy Mom...

Well, this little craft came from school... I've modified it a little bit... and made it look like a give away bottle..  Would work perfectly as return gifts for birthday parties... with loads of candies, chocolates, sugared almonds, M&M, or any other coloured goodies.. in them..

All you need...

1. chart paper for bunny ears

2. cup cake base

3. used water bottle

4. glue

5. scissors

Cut the ears and colour them pink!! Make a small cut in the cup cake base. Stick the base of the ears in it, so that it stands...

Glue this to the cap of the water bottle and tie it up with a ribbon... if you like!!

Fill the bottle with lots of sweets... (like jelly beans... or sugar coated almonds)

Aren't these so cute to give away for a birthday party... to little kids? Plus you've recycled the water bottles... My girlies enjoying making them... *smiles*..

While we made these, I didn't have any jelly beans at home.. (its not what I keep at home..), so I've used the coloured pebbles lying around the house...

Hope you like it.. and will check out the other entries.. at Artsy Craftsy Mom...

The Weekly Story ~ wk 74

Monday... *sigh*... Coming back from my mini break.... to truck loads of month end (actually year end) work.. *sigh*... I've forgotten what the holiday looked like...

So sometime this week... I'll visit you for sure.... There is always so much to do!! Do you feel that way?

Anyway... as its coming closer to Easter... here is something we tried....

All you need for these beautiful eggs... eggs (either plastic or hard boiled), coloured tissue paper, water, mod podge (glue).

Cut the tissue paper into little strips, take out the layers of tissue to use only the thin layer. Then using water stick these on the eggs... Wait for a while till it dries a bit. Then pour glue over these so that it stays and has a glossy look...

If you want to further beautify these eggs, you can use glitter as well...

This is how they turned up... This is an easy craft for little ones too...

I've just been over the top busy with month end, and haven't had any time to hop on to your blogs.... So will be there soon.... Hope you all have a lovely week ahead of you!!

Easter jars

Its always nice to receive a little gift with your name on it...

Since Easter is around the corner, here is a small personalised gift for my little girlies... and their friends...

All you need is :

1. Chart paper

2. Scissors to cut

3. Glue

4. Jars or bottles (I've used baby food bottles here)

Draw little bunny heads like these ...

Fold the base (see below), so the bunny can stand!! Glue together the bunny's head...

Stick these on the lid of the jars or bottles...

Isn't that cute?? Now draw little hands holding a name (see below)...

Cut these... and stick only the top of the hands... to the lids... Do not stick the name on the glass...

This will enable the jars to be opened without tearing or breaking the hands.

Now fill the jar with Easter eggs, sugar coated almonds or jelly beans.... PERFECT!! Isn't it??

Have you linked in to 'Kids Craft'...

A Fun Retreat

Last week I was invited to go to an all girls retreat at my friend's beautiful cabin. I was both excited and anxious---excited to get away for a much needed break; anxious because ALL of the other ladies are expert quilters. I wondered how I would spend my time while they pieced and sewed. Most of my projects of late have been large, involving rooms or furniture in my home. . .nothing conducive to a weekend getaway. I was at a loss as to what to do. One son suggested that I take the break to plan future projects. A friend proposed that I bring magazines or books. Both were wonderful ideas but I felt the need to be creative alongside my friends. So I threw together several things I had lying around my home, items I had purchased earlier hoping one day to try my hand at creating. While my friends cut fabric scraps for quilts I used their cutting tools to cut apart dollar store t-shirts. Using the cut apart t-shirts I made necklaces with the help of this tutorial.I learned how to "finger knit" with the help of this post. It was so easy and fun that I made a brown friendship bracelet for each lady on the retreat.I covered a metal letter "A" with moss. And used my friend's cabin decor to stage this glamor shot. While my quilting friends were busy sewing I stayed busy creating words with wire similar to one I made here. I plan to use these as gift tags. I even crafted up several of these wire "eat" signs for my friends to take home and stick in breads, cakes, or anything they're serving to family and friends.I had so much fun with my creative and loving friends! I came home energized and happy. It's amazing how a little girl-time and crafting can energize one's soul!
