The Weekly Story ~ wk 52

Monday!! Monday!! *sigh*... Monday simply means another weekend has gone past me, and I haven't painted the walls I sketched on... or haven't had time enough to complete any of my projects. Wish weekends were always three days .. How nice would that be??



Do you remember seeing my bedroom wall?? I'm in love with teal... it is such a gorgeous colours. So I've decided that the room is going to be teal and orange.. Simply because I love orange!! I always have!! Do you have any ideas for the wall?? I was thinking of drawing, rather stencilling a peacock feather in white or orange. What do you think? Any other ideas....

Oh.. and I spotted this Buddha.. Its stunning!! I know... I know!! I already have one.. But was wondering if this would look nice outdoors?? It would!! Isn't it?? Well... I didn't buy it.. Only coz it was not on sale.. My new moto ~ 'buy recycled or reduced costs items only' *smiles*.. Should I have got him home??

I haven't visited all your blogs last weekend.. Like I said.. I simply can't find enough time... But promise to pop by and say 'hello' this week... Saying that, I was super impressed by Deepa's Hues n Shades... Do check out her work!!

Buddha Scapes ~ Scribbler

Scribbling into my heart... and into Buddha scapes today is Scribbler.... Here are some stunning images from her home!!

Buddha Scapes ~ Kathmandu

All for the love of Buddha Scapes…. Shilpa took you to Ladakh, Brinda to Dharmsala and now I’m going to take you to Kathmandu….

This place is called Swayambhunath and is one of the oldest and most enigmatic of all the holy shrines in the Kathmandu valley. Its white dome and gliterring gold spire are visible from miles away. This stupa is an important Buddhist pilgrimage destination.




The place is adorned by gorgeous prayer flags… There are stories of a miraculous lotus, planted here by Buddha himself, which blossomed from the lake that once covered the valley.



365 steps lead you up the hill, to the temple which is guarded by two lions at its entrance. On the main stupa there are a pair of big eyes. I believe the eyes is a symbol that God can see ‘all’. And the third eye signifies the wisdom of looking within.



The are surrounding the stupa is filled with small temples, smaller monasteries, a little museum, images of deities and numberous other religious objects. There are also the prayer wheels which the Tibetan Buddhist use. There is also a small hindu temple on this hill.



There is also a smaller temple called the place of peace, inside which monks practise meditation and prayer. The small temple is unique, mysterious and slightly ominous.



Saying that, the place was peaceful and it totally loved being here…

Buddha Scapes ~ Brinda

Hello my lovelies... Brinda joins us this week with gorgeous 'Buddha scapes' from her summer break at Dharamsala, Dalhousie and Chamba.... and a few images from her home!!

A little about Macleodganj :

Macleodganj in Dharamsala is a beautiful village / suburb situated on the Dhualadhar range... It is also known as little Lhasa because of its huge Tibetan refugee population. Home to His Holiness - the Dalai Lama, and the Tibetan government in exile's headquarters the streets are buzzing with people selling Tibetan arts and artefacts. from prayer bells to beaded junk jewellery, masks to singing bells, detailed Thangka paintings to to beautiful Tibetan rugs/mats & Buddha in every shape, size and form...

Now... simply sit back and enjoy your visual tour ...
