Now. . . And Then: Megan of Honey We're Home

Then. . .
I'm going to share with you some really pathetic photos of the living room I inherited when I moved in with my hubby when we were first married.  He had a typical bachelor pad- completely undecorated with a matchy sofa set and big t.v.  In his defense, he's color blind and works a lot! :)

After I moved in, we rearranged the furniture, painted the walls, added new lamps, coffee tables, lamps and a plant.  We added drapes too, but I couldn't find a picture with them.

By the time we moved into our new house three years later, I was craving a lighter, brighter space that didn't feel so heavy.  As you can see, the matching sofas are gone and in it's place is a sectional.  We now have a sisal rug but the same end tables- although I think I'll be changing them out soon.

The drapes are a favorite of mine- found the fabric at High Fashion Home and had them made.  (Do they remind you of the drapes in Emily's previous breakfast room?:)

And I just got new lamps:

And just for fun, look at our old kitchen!  While my husband and I were dating, he chose to paint it dark green and I helped him paint it that way!

So much lighter and brighter!

Thanks for having me Emily!  This was so much to take a walk down memory lane!
