Kristin’s Dining Room Facelift (& a giveaway)

Some of my favorite room makeovers are those where only minor changes are made for big impact—especially when it can be done on a tight budget.  I’ve been helping my friend Kristin from a distance (she lives in Kentucky) with some advice on how to perk up her recently renovated living and dining rooms.

Curtains, Drapes, Valances, Hardware For Your Window

A couple of months ago, I was approached by Curtainworks about using some of their panels for one of my projects. I decided to give them a try in Kristin’s home since her windows were looking a little naked. :)

There wasn’t a lot of color or contrast going on, so I suggested that we order their Delancey lined grommet panel in “pewter”:

And, because she is a friend and not a “real” client, I did this extremely sad looking mock-up to show her some other quick changes she could make:

And, here you have it:

She pulled some of the deep blue from the rug and spray painted the urns on her mantel.  To break up the brown, she painted the chest in the corner black and layered a mirror with some artwork.

The panels worked great—we even used a pair in her adjoining family room.  We used the 95” length so that they would puddle on the floor a little.  (These panels also come in different lengths and in ivory and black.  And, there’s a 20% coupon code for my readers:  ECCW20)

Okay, so there’s a little giveaway to go along with this post.  We actually ordered the wrong length initially, and Curtainworks was kind enough to let me keep the extra pair of panels for another project.  I decided to offer them to you instead.

So. . . If you’re interested in a pair of the Delancey grommet panels in the 84”-length (in “pewter”), just leave a comment below letting me know where you would use them in your home.

I’ll announce the winner on my Facebook page next Wednesday, Sept. 7th.  Happy Labor Day weekend!
