Throw Me a Rope! (And a hot glue gun)

I know, I know.  Almost every design blogger and their dog has done a DIY project using rope, but I didn’t want to be left out.  Rope is one of my favorite accessories for summer because it instantly adds texture (with a slightly nautical feel), and it’s cheap.

I found this hurricane several years ago on a clearance aisle because it was missing it’s base.

That was easily solved with a $6 roll of sisal rope, a hot glue gun, and a few slightly burned fingers.

I used more rope that I bought by the yard at Lowe’s and just dropped it in a glass bowl for an easy, summer arrangement on our sofa table.  (How’s that for some mad DIY skills?)

I found the huge piece of driftwood, btw, for $25 at the flea market.
