I haven’t blogged about the girls’ shared room lately because I’ve stalled. But, I did add new pillows recently which has kind of sparked my interest again in getting their room finished.
(I think my lack of enthusiasm comes from the amount of stuff I find scattered everywhere in their room on a daily basis. Dirty socks, happy meal toys, beads, candy wrappers, pictures of Justin Bieber, hair bows, lip gloss, books, crayons, rings, pipe cleaners, scribbled notebook paper. . . I could on and on and on.)
The pillows were a family affair. My aunt made them for me, and my sister (who has an Etsy shop) embroidered each girl’s initial. I think the best policy for kids’ bedding is to keep it inexpensive so that it’s not devastating to replace and simple so that they can actually make their own beds (well, in an ideal world).
(I knew the pillows will have a high probability of being abused so I went with an inexpensive fabric. I love the fun prints and prices available from Premier Prints, especially for kids’ rooms.)
For their beds, I’m sticking with plain white sheets (bleachable!) and these soft cotton blankets:
For extra warmth, I’d like to add a duvet folded at the end of the bed. I’m thinking of trying these duvet covers from Ikea:
